Love days when the Quayside is this busy! Newcastle really is the place to be.

Great Coffee…

great coffee

… is apparently what you get in here. I’ve never tried it out so can’t vouch for it. Great building though!

I can’t tell you how long I had to crouch on the floor to even attempt to get this building straight in the picture. It drove me mad. If you’re the guy who walk past saying something along the lines of ‘whatever it takes the get the picture right’… then hi! *waves*

This building makes me smile

shieldfield

Before you ask, no I don’t know why. There’s just something about it that feel light and cheerful and kind of continental. It helps when it’s sunny, but even in the gloom, there’s something about the design of it that makes me just a small bit happier.

Controversial?

Ouseburn bridges

bridges

Ouseburn bridges layered on a sunny day.

For those who are still using google reader to view posts on this (and other!) blogs, have you remembered that the service is closing down soon? My personal choice of replacement is the old reader, largely because it works in much the same way, but there are plenty of alternatives out there. You just need to pick one… and pretty soon. Google reader will be withdrawn from 1st July… only two weeks or so away!

You can always follow my twitter feed to be linked to my new posts as well as to see other pictures I’ve taken around Newcastle!

marina

Newcastle has a city centre marina. How on earth had I missed this until only a week or two ago?!

blossom

This was one of those beautifully sunny summer days and the blossom, flowering late after our much-delayed spring, was a gorgeous contrast against the sky….

The Co-op

coop - Copy

So what’s going on with the Co-op building, people? Richard Jackson @rdjacko007 on twitter tells me that it’s been stripped now – does anyone know what’s happening next and if this plan is still going ahead, albeit delayed?

While googling I found this – what on earth?! Is the clock still gone? Of course this story says it’s not certain that this was a theft. All very odd….

Soult has some interesting reading, as always!

bridge1

This is the newest footbridge across the Central Motorway, although it’s a few years old now.

bridge2

A Tenin-esque shot taken on the bridge itself.
